The 4chan website, first launched in 2003, provides for a “safe-space” that promotes freedom of expression, in which people with many different ideologies and interests can connect and interact with each other.

4chan is seen as a normal platform by some, but as a completely politicaly incorrect one by others. The unrestricted freedom of speech on some of the website’s communities and exposure to violent content and toxic behaviour, can lead for the users to not only become generally desensitized, but can also bring them to adhere to those same behaviours and the consequent development of disturbing beliefs.

We have decided to approach the Counter Culture and Radicalism topics within the 4chan platform, in order to adress to everyone the facts and problems these movements have been creating, involving violence, hate speech and others, not only online but into real life situations.

Our goal is to let those who go through our website know about 4chan and its overall influence, both negative and positive, since it is a topic that is not nearly talked about enough when discussing influential types of media, and the darker side of internet forums, and what potential dangers may stem from them.
